Teacher Bio

Beryl Bender graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in English and Philosophy. She has been an avid student of classical yoga since l971 and traveled to India in l974 to further her studies with her teacher, Munishree Chitrabhanu. She is the founder/director of The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute and co-founder of the Give Back Yoga Foundation. She has been teaching yoga and training yoga teachers as ‚Äúspiritual revolutionaries‚ÄĚ for 40 years and is the best selling author of many books on yoga, including Beyond Power Yoga and Yoga for Warriors. She currently directs 300 hour Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training Certification online programs and hosts yoga retreats in Mexico, Costa Rica, Omega Institute, Spain, and Santa Fe, New Mexico
